LMR Fish 'N' Chip Run

In late April we hooked up with our local Mini club, Lancashire Mini Register, again and joined their annual Fish 'N' Chip run to Skipton.

The picturesque West Yorkshire town is just 10 miles from us, so we met up at meeting point round the corner from Bizzie Lizzie's Fish Restaurant where a surprisingly large number of Minis had gathered.

Other members had already had a big run, heading over from the Blackpool area, winding their way along the back roads of rural Lancashire to Skipton.

Whilst heading from the oppositve direction was a big contingent from the FullOnMINIs club, based up in the North East, who had turned out - giving them a fair run out for the day and a much wider variety of cars to gander at.
The sun was out and many members had been preparing hard for the run; washing and polishing their cars. And it was well worth it as some cracking examples had turned up, including Danny Robertshaw's slammed MINI, from Halifax.

LMR club member Brian Rowney had recently traded in his R53 MINI Cooper S for an Audi, so we gave him a bit of ribbing - but at least he stuck with the club's most popular colour - blue!

After the usual meet & greet chit chat, we took a little stroll to the restaurant for what is claimed to be West Yorkshire's finest Fish 'N' Chips. Situated alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal the traditional stone building with its large glass frontage provides a beautiful view over the Yorkshire Dales.

We took some time to have a wander around Skipton whilst the sun was out before everyone headed back for either a final goodbye or to decide where to head next. With the day still fine, we went our for a drive around the countryside.
